MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The SSAC announced the 2026 SSAC Men’s and Women’s Tennis Players of the Week. Luis Guilherme Cupertino de Santana of UT Southern was named SSAC Men’s Tennis Player of the Week and Lucia Rodriguez Garcia of Blue Mountain Christian was named SSAC Women’s Tennis Player of the Week. The awards are for the week of Feb. 2-8.
Luis Guilherme Cupertino de Santana (UT Southern – SR – Salvador, Brazil)
- This is his third-career weekly honor
- De Santana went 3-1 individually on the week as the Firehawks split a pair of matches
- He won 7-6, 6-2 at No. 1 singles against 15th-ranked Oakland City
Lucia Rodriguez Garcia (Blue Mountain Christian – SO – Vigo, Santa Irene)
- This is her first-career weekly honor
- Garcia went 2-0 individually in a win over Millsaps
- She won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5 singles
