MONTGOMERY, Ala. – William Carey’s Barnabas Aggerh and Avery Abram swept the NAIA Men’s Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week awards, the national office announced.
The awards are based on performance for the week of Jan. 12-18.
Track: Barnabas Aggerh (William Carey – JR – Accra, Ghana)
- Aggerh won the 60m with a time of 6.57 at the Commodore Invite in a field of 51 athletes
- The time leads the SSAC and NAIA this season
- The mark hit the NAIA “A” qualifying standard and he is the fourth different SSAC athlete to qualify in the event this season
Field: Avery Abram (William Carey – Tylertown, Miss.)
- Abram won the high jump with a mark of 2.10m at the Samford Open in a field of 21 athletes
- His mark leads the SSAC and NAIA this season
- The jump hit the NAIA “A” qualifying standard
