MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The SSAC announced the 2025 SSAC Men’s Soccer Players of the Week, presented by WinWon. Leo Freire of Faulkner was named SSAC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week and Jamie Barry of William Carey was named SSAC Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. The awards are for the week of Oct. 13-19.
Offensive: Leo Freire (Faulkner – JR – FWD – Rio de Janeiro, Brazil)
- This is his first-career honor
- Freire scored in a 3-1 win at Brewton-Parker Christian and added an assist in a 2-1 win at Thomas
- He is the only Faulkner men’s soccer player to ever have 15 goals and 15 assists in a career
Defensive: Jamie Barry (William Carey – SR – GK – Dublin, Ireland)
- This is his second honor this season
- Barry went 1-0-1 in goal with nine saves and only one goal allowed
- He made seven stops in a 2-1 win over No. 12 Life and stopped a pair of shots in a scoreless tie v. No. 10 Dalton State
