MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The SSAC announced the 2026 SSAC Women’s Soccer Players of the Week. Courtney Hicks of UT Southern was named SSAC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week and Kamilia Tayebi of UT Southern was named SSAC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
Offensive: Courtney Hicks (UT Southern – SR – FWD – Georgetown, Cayman Islands)
- This is her first-career weekly honor
- Hicks tallied seven goals and one assist in a win at Andrew
- The Firehawks went 2-0 to open conference play
Defensive: Kamilia Tayebi (UT Southern - SR – DEF/FWD – Casablanca, Morocco)
- This is her fifth-career weekly honor and fourth-career defensive honor
- Tayebi led a Firehawk defense that allowed only five shots and three shots on goal in a 2-0 SSAC week
- On the offensive end, she scored six goals and added an assist at Andrew
