SSAC Baseball Championship Continues

JACKSON, Tenn. – Deep into day two of the 2026 SSAC Baseball Championship, Abraham Baldwin, Faulkner and William Carey remain unbeaten, with Loyola v. UT Southern still playing after midnight. 
 
A Wolf Pack win would also keep Loyola unbeaten and setup key showdowns Friday with Abraham Baldwin v. Faulkner and William Carey v. Loyola determining who advances to the title game Saturday. The two pool winners receive the league’s two automatic bids to the NAIA National Championship Opening Round.  
 
All games are being streamed for FREE on the Urban Edge Network and tickets are being sold online only. Note the schedule for Thursday and Friday has been flipped to matchup the 1-0 and 0-1 teams Thursday.

  • Ramses Guerra was big on the mound for the Eagles with seven innings of four-hit, one-run ball and six strikeouts
  • Faulkner went ahead for good in the second when Carter Schellsmidt doubled home a pair
 
#1 Abraham Baldwin def. #4 Mobile 8-7
  • ABAC got a Dylan Davis solo shot in the sixth and a Quinten Rawls RBI-single in the seventh to win it
  • Joe Cooney drove in three for the Stallions, while Mobile got three-hit days from Adrian Salas and Ethan Hilpert
 
#2 William Carey def. #3 Thomas 9-8
  • Thomas started the game with a six-run top of the first, but the Crusaders scored in five of the first seven frames, capped by a three-run seventh that saw a bases loaded walk and wild pitch plate the last two runs
  • WCU’s Taylor Walters went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, while Thomas’ Gabe Tafelski went 3-for-5 with two driven in
 
#6 Loyola v. #7 UT Southern
  • As of 12:11 a.m., Loyola held a 16-9 lead in the seventh inning
  • UT Southern started the game by building a 7-0 lead through two, but Loyola answered with 16 runs from the 4th-7th frames, keyed by a five-run fifth
