JACKSON, Tenn. – The Southern States Athletic Conference announced the 2026 SSAC baseball year-end award winners, highlighted by Abraham Baldwin’s Blake Williams being named Mike Jacobs Coach of the Year and Edrien Martinez being named Player of the Year.
Mike Jacobs Coach of the Year: Blake Williams, Abraham Baldwin
Player of the Year: Edrien Martinez, Faulkner
Pitcher of the Year: Matthew Davis, William Carey
Newcomer of the Year: Ian Vickers, Thomas
Freshman of the Year: Isaac Padilla, Thomas
Sportsmanship Award: Faulkner
Williams guided the Stallions to the SSAC Regular Season Championship and the No. 1 seed in this year’s tournament. He led the team to the NAIA National Championship Opening Round last season. Martinez is batting .431 with 17 doubles, 16 homers and 49 RBIs. He is slugging .816 and has a .523 OBP.
William Carey’s Davis earned Pitcher of the Year honors with a 10-2 record and 92 strikeouts in 80.1 innings. Vickers and Padilla were also honored for their work on the mound, with Vickers going 4-5 with 87 strikeouts in 66.2 innings and a .208 batting average against, while Padilla is 9-3 with a 3.30 ERA and .213 batting average against.
