MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The SSAC announced the 2026 SSAC Baseball Players of the Week. Adrian Salas of Mobile was named SSAC Baseball Player of the Week and Alexis Rodriguez Ruiz of Mobile was named SSAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week. The awards are for the week of March 23-29.
Player: Adrian Salas (Mobile – JR – C – Agaudilla, P.R.)
- This is his first-career weekly honor
- Salas hit .500 and slugged .778, while totaling nine hits, 11 RBIs and three XBH in a 3-1 week that included a series win over No. 13 William Carey and a win over (RV) Faulkner
- He went 3-for-4 with a grand slam and six RBIs in a win over Faulkner and then went 5-for-11 with five RBIs in the doubleheader sweep of William Carey
Pitcher: Alexis Rodriguez Ruiz (Mobile – SR – RHP – Yauco, P.R.)
- This is his first-career weekly honor
- Ruiz’s week was highlighted by an extra-innings victory over No. 13 William Carey where he entered the game in the ninth inning and finished with four innings of one-hit relief, fanning seven and allowing only an unearned run
- He totaled six innings, two hits and no earned runs allowed across a pair of outings on the week
