SIOUX CITY, Iowa -- In the 2025 NAIA Women’s Volleyball National Championship, the Missouri Baptist Spartans swept the Mobile (Ala.) Rams in straight sets (25-17, 25-22,25-22).
For the Spartans, Gabi Jakubowska led the charge with 23 kills, hitting a robust .375. She was followed by Allana Capella, who contributed 12 kills with a .346 hitting percentage, and Fernanda Perini, with eight kills. The team's setter, Valentina Navarro, was instrumental in orchestrating the offense, tallying 42 assists and three service aces.
On the defensive side, Julia Reis Pereira led Missouri Baptist with 14 digs, and Summer McDonough with seven of her own.
Corrina Porch-Maxey was a standout for the Rams, registering 11 kills. Setter Emma McPherson contributed 12 assists and 10 digs. As a team, defensively, the Rams outblocked the Spartans (UM-14, MBU-8).
This Pool E victory marks Missouri Baptists' 28th championship pool play win in program history.
Missouri Baptist returns to action Friday, December 5, at 9 a.m. CT, taking on Corban (Ore.) on court one. With this loss, Mobile is now eliminated from the tournament.
Wednesday’s Opener
SIOUX CITY, Iowa -- In the 2025 NAIA Women's Volleyball National Championship, the Corban (Ore.) Warriors defeated the Mobile (Ala.) Rams in straight sets (25-18, 25-23, 25-18) during their Pool E morning matchup.
Corban's offense was on full display, with the team achieving an impressive .347 hitting percentage.
Leading the charge was Emma Bischoff, who posted 11 kills with a .320 hitting percentage. Taylor Kieser also made a notable impact, posting a .636 hitting percentage and securing seven kills without committing a single error. Kendra Bittle was another standout performer for Corban, recording 10 kills and a service ace.
Directing the offense for the Warriors, Abby Guindy and Nadeiah Howard recorded 18 and 17 assists, respectively.
For the Rams, Emma Hampton provided a spark, delivering an impressive 12 kills with a .556 hitting percentage. Teammate Jaci Drinnon led all defenders with 17 digs in the match.
This victory improves Corban to 26-5 overall this season and secures their 16th pool play victory in program history.
Corban will have a rest day on Thursday before taking on Missouri Baptist on court one Friday at 9:00 a.m. CT. The Mobile Rams return to action on court two Thursday at 1:00 p.m. CT to take on Missouri Baptist.
