MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Eight Southern States of Athletic Conference student-athletes were named to the 2022-23 Academic All-America teams as selected by the College Sports Communicators.
Student-athletes are nominated by their athletic communications director and must have a minimum GPA of 3.50 and be a starter or important reserve. Student-athletes must have completed one full calendar year at his/her current institution and be a sophomore or above academically and athletically.
Noteworthy
- Academically, Mobile’s Abby Andrews, Faulkner’s Trace Hill and William Carey’s RJ Stinson led with 4.0 GPA’s
- Dalton State’s Guilherme Franca, Mobile’s Joao Okano and Stinson all earned SSAC Player of the Year nods in their respective sports
- Franca, Hill, Okano, Stinson, Jake Lycette, Mailey Buzzell and Cameron Daniel all earned NAIA All-America honors for their play on the field/court/course
