MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The 2022 Barnes & Noble College Men’s Tennis Scholar-Athlete Team and Scholar-Athlete of the Year were released by the Southern States Athletic Conference.
Middle Georgia’s Naufal Kamaruzzaman headlines the group as the 2022 Barnes & Noble College Men’s Tennis Scholar-Athlete of the Year. In the classroom, he posted a 4.0 GPA as a business administration major. On the court, he earned All-Conference honors after going 12-2 in singles and 10-3 in doubles, including 5-0 marks in SSAC action.

- Loyola’s Aubin Duchier also posted a 4.0 GPA, while Blue Mountain’s Danko Yordanov finished with a 3.94
- WCU’s Daniil Klimov was named SSAC Player of the Year, while Mobile’s Joao Okano earned SSAC Newcomer of the Year honors
- To be eligible, student-athletes must be a sophomore or above in both academic and athletic standing, must be starters or important reserves, have at least a 3.3 cumulative GPA and have competed in 50% of competitions
- Graduate students are not eligible, and transfers must have completed one semester at the school
