Shealynn Miller, USSU Director of Athletics: "We are honored to join the Southern States Athletic Conference, an organization whose commitment to competitive excellence, character development, and student-athlete success aligns closely with our own mission. The SSAC provides an outstanding regional fit that will strengthen competition, reduce travel demands, and enhance the overall student-athlete experience. We look forward to building lasting relationships with fellow member institutions and contributing to the continued growth and success of one of the NAIA's premier conferences."
Dr. Steve Condon, USSU President: "We are honored to join the Southern States Athletic Conference and embrace the opportunity to compete at the highest levels of regional competition. This acceptance represents an exciting new chapter for our institution, one that aligns with our commitment to excellence in athletics, academics, and student development. The SSAC is especially meaningful to me personally, as I had the privilege of serving at previous institutions during the formative years when the conference was established. Having witnessed its growth and impact firsthand, I have long admired its commitment to competitive excellence, institutional collaboration, and student-athlete success. We look forward to building new rivalries, strengthening regional partnerships, and contributing to the proud tradition of the SSAC.”
Mike Hall, SSAC Commissioner: “We are pleased to welcome United States Sports University as a full member of the SSAC beginning in 2027-28. USSU is a good geographic fit for our league, particularly as we continue using divisional play to support scheduling and travel for our member institutions. With the strong leadership of Shealynn Miller and an abundance of veteran head coaches they should do very well, and we look forward to building a strong partnership that creates meaningful opportunities for their student-athletes, coaches and staff.”
