MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The SSAC announced the 2026 SSAC Softball Players of the Week. Diana Arcay of Mobile was named SSAC Softball Player of the Week and Avery Harrell of Mobile was named SSAC Softball Pitcher of the Week. The awards are for the week of March 16-22.
Player: Diana Arcay (Mobile – JR – OF – Valencia, Venezuela)
- This is her first-career weekly honor
- Arcay hit .615 and slugged .846, while totaling eight hits, eight RBIs and three doubles in a 4-0 week
- She had a hit in every game, including going 4-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs in game one v. Point and 1-for-2 with a double and four RBIs in the finale v. Thomas
Pitcher: Avery Harrell (Mobile – SR – RHP – Grove Hill, Ala.)
- This is her fourth-career weekly honor
- Harrell’s week was highlighted by a no-hitter in a 5-0 win over Thomas where she fanned eight and walked a pair across seven innings
- Her other outing was a two-hit shutout v. Point with six K’s and no walks in seven innings
