MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The SSAC announced the 2026 SSAC Softball Players of the Week. Kinley Hogue of William Carey was named SSAC Softball Player of the Week and Jayden Sawyer of William Carey was named SSAC Softball Pitcher of the Week. The awards are for the week of Feb. 23 – March 1.
Player: Kinley Hogue (William Carey – SR – INF – Petal, Miss.)
- This is her first-career weekly honor
- Across five games, Hogue hit .389 and slugged 1.000, while totaling seven hits, five XBH, six runs scored and 10 RBIs
- She had at least one hit in every game and went 5-for-12 with six runs scored, three homers and 10 RBIs across three WCU victories
Pitcher: Jayden Sawyer (William Carey – JR – P – Mobile, Ala.)
- This is her second-career weekly honor
- Sawyer’s week was highlighted by a no-hitter v. Truett McConnell where she fanned 10 across five innings
- She also K’d 10 in a complete-game victory over No. 4 Georgia Gwinnett and hit .500 with three homers and seven RBIs on the week
