MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The SSAC announced the 2026 SSAC Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week. Ollie Brumfield IV of Loyola was named SSAC Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week and Damirian Thompson of Mobile was named SSAC Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week. The awards are for the week of March 9-15.
 
Track: Ollie Brumfield IV (Loyola – SO – Covington, La.)

• This is his first-career weekly outdoor honor
• Brumfield set a school record in the 400m with a time of 47.93 at the Andy Thiel Season Opener
• He beat five NCAA DI runners and finished 2nd

 
Field: Damirian Thompson (Mobile)

• This is his first-career weekly indoor honor
• Thompson competed in the high jump and long jump at the South Alabama Invitational
• He finished 4^th in the high jump (1.86m) and 10^th in the long jump (5.82m)
