MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The SSAC announced the 2026 SSAC Men’s and Women’s Tennis Players of the Week. Vinh Nguyen of William Carey was named SSAC Men’s Tennis Player of the Week and Victoria Vieten of William Carey was named SSAC Women’s Tennis Player of the Week. The awards are for the week of Feb. 16-22.
Vinh Nguyen (William Carey – JR – Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam)
- This is his first-career weekly honor
- Nguyen went 3-0 in singles as the Crusaders went 2-1 on the week, including beat No. 9 Xavier and SSAC foe Mobile
- He won 6-3, 6-4 at No. 3 singles v. Xavier and 6-3, 6-1 at No. 2 singles v. Mobile
Victoria Vieten (William Carey – SR – Dusseldorf, Germany)
- This is her seventh-career weekly honor
- Vieten went 5-1 individually as the Crusaders went 2-1, including beating No. 7 Xavier and Mobile
- Vieten won 6-4, 6-3 against Xavier’s 12th-ranked singles team and 6-1 against their fourth-ranked doubles team
