Five Qualify For NAIA Softball National Championship Opening Round

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The NAIA announced the qualifiers for the NAIA Softball National Championship Opening Round. Five SSAC teams will compete at campus sites May 12-15 for a trip to the NAIA Softball World Series.

Middle Georgia State (38-8)
  • The Knights earned an automatic bid for their third trip to the postseason
  • Middle Georgia earns the #3 seed in San Antonio, Texas and will face #1 Our Lady of the Lake, #2 Eastern Oregon, #4 Embry-Riddle and #5 Central Baptist
 
Mobile (32-18)
  • The Rams grabbed an at-large bid for their seventh postseason trip
  • Mobile heads to Williamsburg, Ky., as the #3 seed against #1 Cumberlands, #2 Texas A&M Texaarkana and #5 Cornerstone
 
William Carey (35-17)
  • The Crusaders earned an at-large bid for their 10th appearance in the Opening Round
  • WCU travels to Oklahoma City, Okla., as the #3 seed against #1 Oklahoma City, #2 Missouri Baptist, #4 Houston Victoria and #5 Morningside
 
Thomas (29-20)
  • The Night Hawks are in the field for the first time since 2018 after grabbing an at-large bid
  • Thomas heads to Lawrenceville, Ga., as the #4 seed to face #1 Georgia Gwinnett, #2 St. Thomas, #3 Evangel and #5 Johnson
 
UT Southern (30-19)
  • The Firehawks return for the first time since 2016 as an at-large selection
  • UT Southern heads to Fayette, Mo., as the #5 seed to battle #1 LSU Alexandria, #2 Central Methodist, #3 British Columbia and #4 Campbellsville
