Rams' Season Ends At NAIA Softball World Series

COLUMBUS, Ga. - Our Lady of the Lake (Texas) scratched across the game’s only run in the sixth inning and rode a dominant complete-game shutout from Annika Litterio to edge Mobile (Ala.) 1-0 to advance to later today for a meeting with Indiana Wesleyan at 2 p.m. ET.

The matchup unfolded as a classic pitchers’ duel, with Mobile (40-18) starter Avery Harrell matching Litterio through five scoreless innings. Although Our Lady of the Lake (46-12) recorded six hits, Harrell consistently worked out of trouble and kept the Saints off the scoreboard deep into the game. She finished with three strikeouts while allowing just one run over seven innings.

The breakthrough finally came in the top of the sixth inning. Pinch runner Danika Jimenez came around to score when Caitlin Casas lined an RBI single down the left-field line to give the Saints a 1-0 advantage. It proved to be the only run either team would need.

Litterio handled the rest from the circle, delivering a complete-game shutout while allowing just two hits and two walks over seven innings. The Saints’ ace did not record a strikeout, instead relying on weak contact and efficient pitching to retire 21 of the 25 batters she faced. Litterio needed only 64 pitches, including 40 strikes, to earn the victory.

The defense also played a key role for Our Lady of the Lake, turning an important double play involving Tania Rodriguez, Novalee Gloria, and Yezenia Perez to erase a Mobile scoring threat.

Mobile managed only two hits in the contest, singles from Lucy Spisto and Daryelin Rivas, and stranded four runners on base.

OLLU will take on IWU later today in the fourth-place game, which is set for a 2 p.m. first pitch.
