MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Southern States Athletic Conference announced the SSAC Softball Players of the Week, presented by WinWon. Annalise Buncy of Thomas was named SSAC Softball Player of the Week and Emily Proctor of Middle Georgia was named SSAC Softball Pitcher of the Week.
The awards are based on performance for the week of March 31 – April 6.
Annalise Buncy (Thomas – SO – OF)
- This is her second-straight weekly honor
- Buncy hit .467 and posted a 1.267 OPS in a 2-2 conference week, while totaling five XBH and eight RBIs
- She recorded a hit in every game with three multi-hit games and three multi-RBI contests. The sophomore had a go-ahead two-run triple in the finale v. Blue Mountain Christian
Emily Proctor (Middle Georgia – SR – P – Land O Lakes, Fla.)
- This is her third-straight weekly honor
- Proctor went 4-0 on the week against No. 8 Georgia Gwinnett and RV William Carey, posting a 1.12 ERA and 26 strikeouts in 25 innings in the circle
- In a pair of one-run victories over the No. 8 Grizzlies, Proctor fanned 14 and allowed only two runs on four hits across 11 innings. She tossed four innings of one-hit shutout relief in the 2-1 win. Against WCU, she had a complete-game shutout, striking out six in a 3-0 victory
