MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Southern States Athletic Conference announced the SSAC Softball Players of the Week, presented by WinWon. Annalise Buncy of Thomas was named SSAC Softball Player of the Week and Emily Proctor of Middle Georgia was named SSAC Softball Pitcher of the Week.
The awards are based on performance for the week of March 24-30.
Annalise Buncy (Thomas – SO – OF)
- This is her first-career weekly honor
- In a 4-0 week against No. 17 William Carey and No. 21 Mobile, Buncy hit .357 and slugged .857, while totaling five hits, three XBH, four runs and five RBIs
- She swatted a solo homer in a game-one win over the Crusaders, started an 8-6 win over Mobile with a three-run home run and capped the Mobile sweep with a walk-off RBI-single
Emily Proctor (Middle Georgia – SR – P – Land O Lakes, Fla.)
- This is her second-straight weekly honor
- In a 4-0 week, including sweeping No. 21 Mobile, Proctor went 3-0 with a save, while posting an 0.79 ERA and fanning 15 in 17.2 innings of work
- She tossed a shutout against the Rams, striking out nine and walking only one and picked up another win over Mobile in relief with 2.2 innings of three-hit relief, allowing only one unearned run
