MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Southern States Athletic Conference announced the SSAC Softball Players of the Week, presented by WinWon. Sierra Ussery of Thomas (Ga.) was named SSAC Softball Player of the Week and Ella Singletary of UT Southern was named SSAC Softball Pitcher of the Week.
The awards are based on performance for the week of March 10-16.
Sierra Ussery (Thomas – SR – RHP)
- This is her first-career weekly honor
- Ussery did it all in a doubleheader sweep of ABAC, going 4-for-5 with three RBIs at the dish and tossing 6.1 innings of two-run ball to pick up the 4-3 victory in the opener
- She had two hits in each game, including a two-run homer in game one and a walkoff single in the game two victory
Ella Singletary (UT Southern – SO – RHP – Ardmore, Tenn.)
- This is her first-career weekly honor
- Singletary went 2-0 in the circle with a spotless ERA, 0.42 WHIP and 15 strikeouts in 12 innings
- The sophomore allowed only five hits and walked none across the two starts, which included a one-hit, nine-strikeout effort against Blue Mountain Christian
