MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Southern States Athletic Conference announced the SSAC Softball Players of the Week, presented by WinWon. Tori Wright of Brewton-Parker (Ga.) was named SSAC Softball Player of the Week and Riley Smith of Mobile (Ala.) was named SSAC Softball Pitcher of the Week.
The awards are based on performance for the week of Feb. 17-23.
Tori Wright (Brewton-Parker – SO – C/UTIL)
- This is her second honor this season
- In a 3-1 conference week, Wright hit .563, posted a .611 OBP and slugged .813, while totaling nine hits, eight RBIs, six runs scored and five stolen bases
- Wright recorded three multi-hit games and three multi-RBI contests. In game one v. ABAC, she went 3-for-4 with a double, triple and two RBIs, and in a 2-1 win over Point she went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and three steals
Riley Smith (Mobile – FR – P – Jonesboro, Ark.)
- This is her first-career weekly honor
- Smith twirled a complete-game shutout against No. 14 William Carey in a 1-0 Mobile victory
- She fanned six and allowed only four hits
