MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Southern States Athletic Conference announced the SSAC Softball Players of the Week, presented by WinWon. William Carey (Miss.) swept the honors, with Julia Shaw being named SSAC Softball Player of the Week and Reanna Nieman being named SSAC Softball Pitcher of the Week.
The awards are based on performance for the week of Feb. 10-16.
Julia Shaw (William Carey – JR – P – Hernando, Miss.)
- This is her first-career weekly honor
- In a 4-0 week, Shaw hit .500, posted a .615 OBP and slugged .750, while totaling seven RBIs
- She went 2-for-2 with three RBIs in two different wins v. Stillman
Reanna Nieman (William Carey – JR – P – Deer Park, Texas)
- This is her first-career weekly honor
- Nieman went 2-0 in the circle for the Crusaders, posting an 0.00 ERA and 0.70 WHIP across 10 innings
- She fanned 10 and allowed only five hits across a pair of starts v. Stillman and Georgetown
