MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The SSAC announced the 2025 SSAC Men’s Soccer Players of the Week, presented by WinWon. Manuel Carrillo of Life was named SSAC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week and Louis Hester of UT Southern was named SSAC Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. The awards are for the week of Sept. 29 – Oct. 5.
Offensive: Manuel Carrillo (Life – SO – FWD – Aragua, Venezuela)
- This is his first-career honor
- Carrillo totaled two goals and one assist on the week, while tallying the game winner in both games
- He scored one goal and added one assist in a 3-0 win v. Blue Mountain Christian and scored the game winner in a road win at UT Southern
Defensive: Louis Hester (UT Southern – SR – GK – High Wycombe, England)
- This is his first-career honor
- Hester’s week was highlighted by a five-save shutout in a 2-0 win over No. 1 Dalton State. UT Southern snapped the Roadrunners’ 37-game unbeaten streak and ended a 50-game home unbeaten streak
- The senior made eight stops in a 2-1 loss to No. 19 Life
