MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The 2024 SSAC women’s soccer year-end award winners were recognized Wednesday, highlighted by UT Southern’s Will Austin being named Coach of the Year and Keito Ido being named Player of the Year.
Coach of the Year: Will Austin, UT Southern

Offensive Player of the Year: Christina Salmon, William Carey (Miss.)
Defensive Player of the Year: Kamilia Tayebi, UT Southern
Freshman of the Year: Argentina Estrada, William Carey (Miss.)
Newcomer of the Year: Esalenna Galekhutle, William Carey (Miss.)
Golden Gloves: Brooke Alvarez, Dalton State (Ga.)
Golden Boot: Maclani Michael, UT Southern
Team Sportsmanship Award: Brewton-Parker (Ga.)
Quick Hitters
- Austin guided the Firehawks to the SSAC Regular Season Championship
- Ido is 5th in the NAIA with 64 points and 3rd with 18 assists, while adding 23 goals. She has scored in all but two games and produced points in all but one contest, including five multi-goal games
- Salmon is tied for 2nd in the NAIA with 31 goals and 2nd with 76 points. She produced six multi-goal contests
- Michael is tied for 2nd in the NAIA with 31 goals and 4th with 71 points
- Tayebi led a defense that turned in 10 shutouts and allowed more than one goal only twice
- Estrada started all 18 games for the Crusaders, with one goal and six assists, while Galekhutle produced 14 goals and nine assists
- Alvarez made 52 saves in goal for the Roadrunners, producing seven shutouts
