MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Southern States Athletic Conference announced the 2023 Barnes & Noble College Softball Scholar-Athlete Team and Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Middle Georgia’s Beth Eddins was named 2023 Barnes & Noble College Softball Scholar-Athlete of the Year. The junior business administration major finished with a 3.94 GPA. On the field, she earned First-Team All-Conference honors after logging 155 innings in the circle with 18 wins and a 1.85 ERA.

Noteworthy
- To be eligible, student-athletes must be a sophomore or above in both academic and athletic standing, must be starters or important reserves, have at least a 3.3 cumulative GPA and have competed in 50% of competitions
- Graduate students are not eligible, and transfers must have completed one semester at the school
- The Knights’ Emma Raulerson posted a 3.92 GPA, Mobile’s Caitlin McRee has a 3.91 mark and Stillman’s Madison Bubel finished with a 3.90 GPA
- Mitchell, Purvis, McRee, Rodriguez, West, Bubel and Haskins all earned First-Team All-Conference recognition
