MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Middle Georgia State swept the SSAC Softball Player of the Week honors, with Madisyn Riggins being named SSAC Softball Pitcher of the Week and Summer Lawrence being named SSAC Softball Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
The awards are based on performance for the week of April 17-23.
Madisyn Riggins (Middle Georgia – SO – INF/P – Kingsland, Ga.)
- This is her second-career honor
- Riggins went 3-0 on the week, allowing only three runs on 12 hits in 21 innings of work
- She worked eight innings in a 6-2 win over Stillman and tossed a complete-game, four-hit shutout in a 1-0 win over Blue Mountain
Summer Lawrence (Middle Georgia – SO – OF – Smiths Station, Ala.)
- This is her first-career honor
- In a 6-0 week, Lawrence hit .526 and slugged .947, while totaling 10 hits, eight runs and seven RBIs
- She had at least one hit in every game, going 8-for-13 with five runs and four RBIs v. Stillman and Blue Mountain
