MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Beth Eddins of Middle Georgia State was named SSAC Softball Pitcher of the Week and Anna Purvis of Faulkner (Ala.) was named SSAC Softball Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
The awards are based on performance for the week of March 13-19.
Beth Eddins (Middle Georgia – JR – P – Gainesville, Ga.)
- This is her fourth-career honor
- Eddins went 2-0 on the week, allowing only one run on seven hits in 14 innings of action
- In a 6-0 win over No. 1 Mobile, Eddins tossed a complete-game, four-hit shutout
Anna Purvis (Faulkner – JR – INF – Morris, Ala.)
- This is her first Player of the Week honor
- In a 5-1 week, Purvis hit .526 and slugged .947, while totaling 10 hits, seven runs, eight RBIs and four XBH
- She had a hit and scored a run in all but one game. She went 5-for-5 in a sweep of Blue Mountain and had a six-RBI game against Southeastern Bpatist
