2021-22 Women's Golf Scholar-Athlete Team and Scholar-Athlete of the Year Announced

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The 2021-22 Barnes & Noble College Women’s Golf Scholar-Athlete Team and Scholar-Athlete of the Year were released by the Southern States Athletic Conference.
 
Dalton State’s Mailey Buzzell headlines the honorary squad as the 2021-22 Barnes & Noble College Women’s Golf Scholar-Athlete of the Year. In the classroom, the sophomore BBA Accounting major posted a 3.7 GPA. On the course, she was named First-Team All-Conference and is ranked 13th in the Golfstat Head-to-Head rankings. She has a 75.9 stroke average, two tournament wins and five top-five finishes.

Noteworthy
  • Dalton State’s Megan Donahue (3.92) and Blue Mountain’s Dejone Lee (3.91) lead in GPA’s
  • Cameron Daniel won the individual title at the 2022 SSAC Women’s Golf Championship, while Breland, Cooley, Daniel and Donahue join Buzzell as all-conference choices
  • To be eligible, student-athletes must be a sophomore or above in both academic and athletic standing, must be starters or important reserves, have at least a 3.3 cumulative GPA and have competed in 50% of competitions
  • Graduate students are not eligible, and transfers must have completed one semester at the school
