MONTGOMERY, Ala. –Dee Dee West of William Carey (Miss.) was named SSAC Softball Player of the Week and Beth Eddins of Middle Georgia State was named SSAC Softball Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
The awards are based on performance for the week of April 18-24.
Dee Dee West (William Carey – SO – INF – Slidell, La.)
- West helped the Crusaders to a 5-1 SSAC week after hitting .421, posting a .500 OBP and slugging 1.000
- She totaled eight hits, seven runs, nine RBIs, three homers and a pair of doubles
- In a DH sweep of Stillman, she went 5-for-6 with five runs, eight RBIs and three home runs
Beth Eddins (Middle Georgia – JR – RHP – Gainesville, Ga.)
- Eddins wins the award for the third time this season, and second-straight
- She tossed a seven-inning no-hitter in a 6-0 win v. Faulkner, striking out five
- Across four outings, she went 3-0 with a save, while allowing only seven hits across 20 shutout innings
