MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Alexis Cosgrove of Middle Georgia State was named SSAC Softball Player of the Week and Megan Dudenhefer of William Carey (Miss.) was named SSAC Softball Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
The awards are based on performance for the week of March 21-27.
Alexis Cosgrove (Middle Georgia – SO – 3B – Smiths Station, Ala.)
- In a 4-0 conference week for the Knights, Cosgrove hit .462, posted a .500 OBP and slugged 1.000, while totaling six hits, seven runs, two home runs and six RBIs
- She recorded at least one hit and one run in all four games
- In game two v. Stillman, she homered, scored three runs and drove in four runs, and in game one v. BMC she went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs
Megan Dudenhefer (William Carey – SR – P – Picayune, Miss.)
- Dudenhefer wins the award for the second time this season and it is the fourth time a WCU pitcher has won it
- The week was highlighted by a no-hitter v. Faulkner where she worked all five innings, walked three and struck out two
- She also tossed 10 shutout innings over two starts v. LSUA and Talladega, combining for 14 K’s versus only one walk and four hits
