2021 Men's Soccer Scholar-Athlete Team and Scholar-Athlete of the Year Announced

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The 2021 Barnes & Noble College Men’s Soccer Scholar-Athlete Team and Scholar-Athlete of the Year were released by the Southern States Athletic Conference. 
 
Mobile’s Joshua Bynoe headlines the team as the 2021 Barnes & Noble College Men’s Soccer Scholar-Athlete of the Year. The senior computer information systems major posted a 3.81 GPA in the classroom and helped lead the Rams to a runner-up finish at the NAIA Men’s Soccer National Championship. He earned First-Team All-Conference and Honorable Mention All-America honors after finishing with 14 goals and five assists.

Noteworthy
  • To be eligible, student-athletes must be a sophomore or above in both academic and athletic standing, must be starters or important reserves, have at least a 3.3 cumulative GPA and have competed in 50% of competitions
  • Graduate students are not eligible, and transfers must have completed one semester at the school
  • WCU’s Thomas Gray has the only 4.0, while Ackander (3.88), Figueiro (3.8) and Wortley (3.77) are right behind
  • Yusufoglu and Riescher earned First-Team All-Conference honors, while Figueiro, Stewart and Ackander earned Second-Team nods
