Hall is in his 12th year as commissioner of the Southern States Athletic Conference. Prior to his time with the SSAC, he racked up 28 years of experience in private and public higher education administration, including teaching, coaching, budget management, academics, compliance, personnel management, marketing strategic planning, fundraising and community relations.

  • Added Cheer and Dance, M&W Bowling and M&W Indoor T&F as championship sports
  • Launched Women's Leadership Committee, Striving For Equality Committee and Mental Health Task Force
  • Engineered partnership with Sun Conference to create championship opportunities for M&W Bowling, M&W Swimming and other sports
  • Upgraded partnerships with Montgomery and Decatur

Prior to the SSAC

During his time as the Director of Athletics at USC Upstate, Hall helped the Spartans transition from NCAA Division II to NCAA Division I. Among his other notable achievements was overseeing more than $10 million in facility and infrastructure improvements, including the Louis P. Howell Athletic Complex which includes County University Soccer Stadium and five practice fields, Cleveland S. Harley Baseball Park, Cyrill Softball Stadium and a 12-court tennis complex. He spearheaded the $2 million construction of the athletic offices. His tenure also saw the $4 million renovation of the Hodge Center and expansion of the Performance Center.

Hall also helped increase the playing opportunities for a number of student-athletes by adding the sports of women’s soccer, men’s and women’s golf and men’s and women’s track & field to the athletic department, growing the program from 11 sports to 17 now competing on the NCAA Division I level. Under his leadership, Upstate hosted several NCAA and conference championships, including the 1995 and 1998 NCAA Division II Men’s Soccer Championship Final Four, 1995 NCAA Division II Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championships, 1998 NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball South Atlantic Regional Championships, and numerous A-Sun and Peach Belt Conference championships.

Hall was committed to upgrading several coaching and staff positions from part-time to full-time status in an effort to provide the student-athletes the best possible environment in which to improve their skills as student-athletes and the head coaches the opportunity to grow and improve their programs. During his tenure, more than 20 coaches and staff positions were elevated to full-time status.
