MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Southern States Athletic Conference announced the 2026 SSAC Men’s Bowling Scholar-Athlete Team and Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
SCAD Savannah’s Kai Evans was named 2026 SSAC Men’s Bowling Scholar-Athlete of the Year. The senior film and television major posted a 3.66 GPA, while also earning First-Team All-Conference honors and recording a 201.9 average pinfall.

Additional Notes
- Furukawa led with a 3.93 GPA, while Shockey has a 3.79
- Evans and Furukawa earned First-Team All-Conference honors, while Shockey, Knox and McRae were Second-Team honorees
- To be eligible, student-athletes must be a sophomore or above in both academic and athletic standing, must be starters or important reserves, have at least a 3.3 cumulative GPA and have competed in 50% of competitions
- Graduate students and transfers must have completed one semester at the school
