MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The SSAC announced the 2026 SSAC Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week. Barnabas Aggerh of William Carey was named SSAC Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week and Jacob Sanchez of UT Southern was named SSAC Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week. The awards are for the week of April 20-26.
Track: Barnabas Aggerh (William Carey)
- This is his fourth-career weekly outdoor honor
- Aggerh hit a pair of NAIA qualifying marks at the SSAC Championship
- He hit the “A” standard in the 100m (10.33) and the “B” standard in the 4x100m (40.97)
Field: Jacob Sanchez (UT Southern – JR – Ardmore, Ala.)
- This is his first-career weekly outdoor honor
- Sanchez hit the NAIA “B” qualifying mark in the javelin with a throw of 59.08m
- His throw leads the SSAC and won the event
