MONTGOMERY, Ala. – William Carey’s Makeem Roberts was named NAIA Men’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week, the national office announced.
 
The awards are based on performance for the week of Jan. 26 – Feb. 1.
 
Makeem Roberts (William Carey – SR – G – Meridian, Miss.)

• Across three SSAC games, Roberts averaged 13.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.0 steals and 3.3 blocks per game
• He had nine rebounds, four steals and two blocks in a win over Loyola and six boards, five steals and three blocks in a win at Life
• Fifteen of his 21 rebounds on the week were on the defensive end
