Top Seeds WCU & Dalton State Advance To SSAC Men's Basketball Championship Game

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The two No. 1 seeds will battle for the 2026 SSAC Men’s Basketball Championship Saturday after Dalton State and William Carey earned single-digit wins in Friday’s semifinal action.
 
The championship game is set for 6:30 pm CST at the Multiplex at Cramton Bowl.

  • The Roadrunners got 26 points, 18 rebounds and four blocks from Omarion Smith and 15 points and nine boards from Qualen Pettus
  • The Barons got 16 points from Abraham Garjah and 14 points, seven rebounds and five steals from Gil Gonzalez
  • Dalton State won the rebounding battle 43-32 and went 7-of-19 from 3-point range, compared to 2-of-13 for the Barons

  • The Crusaders got 30 points from Malik Franklin on 7-of-15 shooting, while Makeem Roberts added 14 points and seven boards
  • Shane Stevensen led Life with 30 points and seven rebounds on 12-of-16 shooting, while Calvin Payton added 20 points on five triples
  • WCU hit 10-of-31 from deep compared to 5-of-24 for Life, while committing only nine turnovers
