MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Southern States Athletic Conference announced the SSAC Baseball Players of the Week, presented by WinWon. Eduarny Martinez of Faulkner was named SSAC Baseball Player of the Week and Cole Bordes of Loyola was named SSAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
The awards are based on performance for the week of March 31 – April 6.
Eduarny Martinez (Faulkner – SR – OF – Caracas, Venezuela)
- This is his third honor this season
- Martinez hit .467 and slugged 1.200 while totaling three homers, 10 RBIs and six runs scored
- In a three-game sweep of Middle Georgia, he went 7-for-11 with three homers, two doubles, six runs and 10 RBIs
Cole Bordes (Loyola – JR – P – Metairie, La.)
- This is his first-career weekly honor
- Bordes K’d nine and allowed only three hits and no earned runs across seven innings in a 4-2 win over Brewton-Parker
- He set a career-high in strikeouts in the outing, posting a WHIP of 0.43
