2024-25 Women's Basketball Scholar-Athlete Team & Scholar-Athlete OTY Announced

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The SSAC announced the 2024-25 Barnes & Noble College Women’s Basketball Scholar-Athlete Team and Scholar-Athlete of the Year. 
 
Mobile’s MacKenzie White was named 2024-25 Barnes & Noble College Women’s Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year. The senior math major posted a 3.92 GPA in the classroom and was selected as Mobile’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year. On the court, she was named SSAC Defensive Player of the Year for the second-straight season and earned Second-Team All-Conference honors. She averaged 12.1 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.2 steals per contest.

Additional Notes
  • To be eligible, student-athletes must be a sophomore or above in both academic and athletic standing, must be starters or important reserves, have at least a 3.3 cumulative GPA and have competed in 50% of competitions
  • Graduate students are not eligible, and transfers must have completed one semester at the school
  • After White, Donaldson (3.79) and Travis (3.69) posted the highest GPA’s
  • On the court, Blakeney was named SSAC Player of the Year and Third-Team All-America, while Smith, Thornton and Donaldson earned First-Team All-Conference honors. Guy and Travis earned Second-Team All-Conference nods.
