MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Southern States Athletic Conference announced the SSAC Baseball Players of the Week, presented by WinWon. Jeremi Lara of Brewton-Parker was named SSAC Baseball Player of the Week and Cameron Gordon of Blue Mountain Christian was named SSAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
The awards are based on performance for the week of April 14-20.
Jeremi Lara (Brewton-Parker – JR – OF)
- This is his first-career honor
- In a 3-1 week, Lara hit .529 and slugged 1.353, while totaling nine hits, four homers, two doubles, 10 RBI and seven runs scored
- He had multiple hits in every game. In the UT Southern series, Lari went 7-for-13 with six runs, two doubles, four homers and 10 RBI
Cameron Gordon (Blue Mountain – SR – RHP – Dyersburg, Tenn.)
- This is his first-career weekly honor
- Gordon played a role in a pair of wins over No. 9 William Carey, totaling six innings in relief with one run and six hits allowed, while fanning nine and walking none
- In a 12-11 win, he logged four innings of one-run relief, striking out seven
