MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Southern States Athletic Conference announced the SSAC Baseball Players of the Week, presented by WinWon. Jaiden Duarte of Middle Georgia was named SSAC Baseball Player of the Week and Charlie Nichols of Loyola was named SSAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
The awards are based on performance for the week of April 7-13.
Jaiden Duarte (Middle Georgia – SR – OF – Tampa, Fla.)
- This is his second-career honor
- In a 4-0 week that included a sweep of Loyola, Duarte hit .533, posted a .611 OBP and slugged 1.133, while totaling eight hits, four XBH and 10 RBI
- He hit safely in every game, including producing a pair of three-hit contests, capped by going 3-for-4 with two homers in a 5-3 win over the Wolf Pack
Charlie Nichols (Loyola – SR – P – Lake Worth, Fla.)
- This is his first-career weekly honor
- Nichols tossed five innings of two-hit, shutout ball in a win over U.S. Sports Academy
- He struck out a career-high 11 and walked none
