MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Southern States Athletic Conference announced the SSAC Men’s Basketball Players of the Week, presented by WinWon. Chaze Harris of Life (Ga.) was named SSAC Men’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week and Jeffrey Selden of Faulkner (Ala.) was named SSAC Men’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.
The awards are based on performance for the week of Jan. 27 – Feb. 2.
Chaze Harris (Life – JR – G – Cleveland, Ohio)
- This is his third-career weekly honor
- In a 2-1 week for the Running Eagles, Harris averaged 25 points, 9.3 assists, 7.7 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 2.0 blocks per game, while shooting 57% from the field
- He tallied 30 points, 10 assists and six boards in a 99-93 win over Spartanburg and 24 points, 11 assists and six rebounds in a two-point win over Loyola
Jeffrey Selden (Faulkner – JR – G – Austin, Texas)
- This is his third-career defensive honor
- In a 2-0 SSAC week, Selden averaged 14.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 1.0 blocks per contest
- Guarding inside and out, he had a high of 11 boards in a win over Point and four steals and 10 rebounds in a win over Brewton-Parker
