MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Southern States Athletic Conference announced the SSAC Men’s Basketball Players of the Week, presented by WinWon. Chaze Harris of Life (Ga.) was named SSAC Men’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week and Omarion Smith of Dalton State (Ga.) was named SSAC Men’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.
The awards are based on performance for the week of Feb. 3-9.
Chaze Harris (Life – JR – G – Cleveland, Ohio)
- This is his fourth-career weekly honor
- In a 2-0 conference week, Harris averaged 19 points, 7.5 assists and 7.0 rebounds per game, while shooting 58% from the field and 67% from 3-point range
- He posted a double-double of 19 points and 10 assists, while adding seven boards in a win at Faulkner, and finished with 19 points, seven rebounds and five assists in a win at Point
Omarion Smith (Dalton State – JR – F – Atlanta, Ga.)
- This is his fourth defensive honor this season
- In a 2-1 conference week, Smith averaged 3.7 blocks, 3.0 defensive boards and 1.3 steals per game
- He posted five blocks, four boards and a pair of steals in a win over ABAC and added four blocks and four boards v. Middle Georgia
