MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The SSAC announced the 2025-26 SSAC Women’s Basketball Players of the Week. Silkiari Vazquez-Troche of UT Southern was named SSAC Women’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week and Shaneal Corpuz of William Carey was named SSAC Women’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week. The awards are for the week of Nov. 3-9.
Offensive: Silkiari Vazquez-Troche (UT Southern – SR – G – San Juan, P.R.)
- This is her second-career honor after earning the defensive nod last week
- Vazquez-Troche recorded a triple-double against Oakwood with 19 points, 15 assists and 12 rebounds
- She shot 62% from the field and four of her 12 boards were offensive
Defensive: Shaneal Corpuz (William Carey – JR – G – Biloxi, Miss.)
- This is her seventh-career weekly honor
- Corpuz had an all-around game in a four-point win over Dillard
- She pulled down six rebounds, had five steals and added three blocks in the victory
