MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Southern States Athletic Conference announced the SSAC Women’s Basketball Players of the Week, presented by WinWon. Ashley Dickey of UT Southern was named SSAC Women’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week and Braylee McMath of Mobile (Ala.) was named SSAC Women’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.
The awards are based on performance for the week of Dec. 30 – Jan. 5.
Ashley Dickey (UT Southern – JR – G – Baltimore, Md.)
- This is her first-career weekly honor
- In a 1-1 week, Dickey averaged 28 points, seven rebounds, 3.5 steals and 2.5 assists per game, while shooting 47% overall, 40% from 3-point range and 100% from the free throw line
- She produced 29 points and seven boards in a win over Blue Mountain Christian
Braylee McMath (Mobile – SR – PG – Georgetown, Ky.)
- This is her first-career weekly honor
- In a 3-0 week, McMath averaged 4.0 steals per game, while also chipping in 19.7 points per contest
- She had a high of six steals in a win at Ave Maria
