MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Southern States Athletic Conference announced the SSAC Men’s Basketball Players of the Week, presented by WinWon. Chaze Harris of Life (Ga.) was named SSAC Men’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week and Omarion Smith of Dalton State (Ga.) was named SSAC Men’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.
The awards are based on performance for the week of Jan. 13-19.
Chaze Harris (Life – JR – G)
- This is his second-career weekly honor
- In a 2-0 conference week, Harris averaged 30.5 points, 11.0 assists, 7.0 rebound, 2.5 steals and 1.5 blocks per game, while shooting 71% from the field and 83% from the FT line
- Harris had 23 points and 14 assists in a win over Brewton-Parker and 38 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists in a win over Thomas
Omarion Smith (Dalton State – JR – F – Atlanta, Ga.)
- This is his second-career honor
- In a 2-0 SSAC week, Smith averaged 6.5 rebounds, 3.5 blocks and 2.5 steals per game
- He had 11 points, six boards and four blocks v. Thomas and 15 points, seven rebounds, three steals and three blocks v. the Barons
