MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Southern States Athletic Conference announced the SSAC Men’s Basketball Players of the Week, presented by WinWon. Dylan Brumfield of William Carey (Miss.) was named SSAC Men’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week and Qualen Pettus of Dalton State (Ga.) was named SSAC Men’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.
The awards are based on performance for the week of Dec. 2-8.
Dylan Brumfield (William Carey – SR – G – Hattiesburg, Miss.)
- This is his first-career weekly honor
- In a 2-0 week, Brumfield averaged 21.5 points, 5.5 assists and 5.5 rebounds, while shooting 63% from the field and 71% from the free throw line
- He posted 18 points and seven assists in a win over Faulkner, and 25 points and four assists while shooting 82% in a 93-85 win over SUNO
Qualen Pettus (Dalton State – JR – G/F – Fort Wayne, Ind.)
- This is his first-career weekly honor
- In a win over No. 9 Cumberlands, Pettus posted 10 defensive rebounds and three steals as the Roadrunners scored 22 points off turnovers
- He also chipped in 20 points and four assists on the offensive end
