MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Southern States Athletic Conference announced the SSAC Men’s Basketball Players of the Week, presented by WinWon. Chaze Harris of Life (Ga.) was named SSAC Men’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week and Omarion Smith of Dalton State (Ga.) was named SSAC Men’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.
The awards are based on performance for the week of Dec. 16-22.
Chaze Harris (Life – JR – G – Cleveland, Ohio)
- This is his first-career weekly honor
- In a 2-0 conference week, Harris averaged 14 points, 5.0 rebounds and 6.0 assists while shooting 73% from the field and 75% from 3-point range
- In a two-point win v. UT Southern, Harris produced 13 points, nine assists and five boards
Omarion Smith (Dalton State – JR – F – Atlanta, Ga.)
- This is his first-career honor
- Smith helped the Roadrunners to a win at William Carey with six blocks
- He logged 23 minutes and added a pair of rebounds
