MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Southern States Athletic Conference announced the SSAC Women’s Basketball Players of the Week, presented by WinWon. Alanna Donaldson of Mobile (Ala.) was named SSAC Women’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week and Destiny Hill of Thomas (Ga.) was named SSAC Women’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.
The awards are based on performance for the week of Nov. 25 – Dec. 1.
Alanna Donaldson (Mobile – SR – G – New Orleans, La.)
- This is her first-career weekly honor
- Donaldson scored 26 points in a win at Dillard, while also adding six rebounds and four assists
- She shot 50% from the field and was 3-for-3 from 3-point range
Destiny Hill (Thomas – SR – G – Clarksville, Tenn.)
- This is her second honor this season
- In a 1-1 week, Hill averaged 13 points, 9.5 rebounds, 4.5 steals and 2.0 assists per game
- In a 64-62 win over Warner, she put up 13 points, 15 rebounds and seven steals. She also forced three steals in a row in the second quarter to help Thomas rebound from a double-digit deficit
