MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Southern States Athletic Conference announced the SSAC Men’s Basketball Players of the Week, presented by WinWon. KJ Rogers of Faulkner (Ala.) was named SSAC Men’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week and Ezra McKenna of Mobile (Ala.) was named SSAC Men’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.
The awards are based on performance for the week of Nov. 25 – Dec. 1.
KJ Rogers (Faulkner – JR – G – St. Thomas, Virgin Islands)
- This is his second weekly honor this season
- Rogers averaged 19 points, 8.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.5 steals per game, while shooting 57% overall and 85% from the free throw line against a pair of Top-15 teams
- He posted a double-double of 22 points and 11 boards v. No. 4 Arizona Christian and then added 16 points, six assists and five boards, while shooting 75% in a two-point win over No. 15 Florida Memorial
Ezra McKenna (Mobile – SR – F – Fort Walton Beach, Fla.)
- This is his 14th-career weekly honor and third this season
- In a three-game week, McKenna averaged 16.3 points, 15.7 rebounds and 1.3 blocks
- He brought down 11.3 defensive boards per game and finished with a high of 23 total rebounds v. Dillard
