MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Southern States Athletic Conference announced the SSAC Women’s Basketball Players of the Week, presented by WinWon. Miriam Oldacre of Mobile (Ala.) was named SSAC Women’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week and Zaria Johnson of Point (Ga.) was named SSAC Women’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.
The awards are based on performance for the week of Dec. 9-15.
Miriam Oldacre (Mobile – SR – G – Cullman, Ala.)
- This is her first-career weekly honor
- In a win over Fort Lauderdale, Oldarcre scored 32 points while shooting 80% from the field and 83% from 3-point range
- She added nine rebounds and three assists in the game as Mobile went over 100 points for the first time since 2009
Zaria Johnson (Point – JR – C – Montgomery, Ala.)
- This is her second weekly honor this season
- Johnson posted 10 points, 13 rebounds and three blocks v. Truett McConnell
- Eight of the 13 rebounds were defensive boards. She leads the SSAC in rebounds and blocks per game
